Christina Jacks – School and Sports Small Prints
School and sports covers many facets of printing and products at H&H. We would like for you to get to know one of our valued employees who works in this area, Christina Jacks! Christina works in assembly, specifically in the laser section. An example of a typical product that she might work on would be a statuette. When Christina receives an image for a statuette, she uses Adobe Illustrator to trace the image. This provides an outline for the laser machine to follow and burn to create the product. Spring season, is an especially busy time for dance school and sports team products and Christina plays a very important role in making sure all of these products are produced with quality and shipped on time to our valued customers.
What is your job title/position?
I am an assembler for the school and sports small prints department.
How long have you worked for H&H?
I have worked for H&H for about a year and a half.
How many people are in your department?
It ranges 5 to 20 employees, depending on our busy seasons.
What did you do prior to working for H&H? How do those skills help you with what you do now?
I worked in the school system as a Title 1 teacher’s assistant. It’s a very different environment here. I would say working in a team and problem-solving are skills that carry over.
How has the company changed in the years since you first started working here?
The layout has changed, and we have made improvements. We have worked as a team to improve the department. With the Kaizen, several ideas were implemented to make things run more smoothly and efficiently.
Definition of Kaizen – Japanese word for continuous improvement. In practice it means all team members in all parts of the organization are continuously looking for ways to improve operations, and people at every level in the company support this process of improvement.
What is it that you love about your job? Or how do you measure a job “well done” in a given day?
I like the feeling of accomplishing things—getting things done. It feels good when I have gotten the products out for our customers when they need them. I like to see all of the photographs of children. My grandmother was a picture taker. It’s a good feeling to know that someone will keep our products as a keepsake, whether it is a regular photograph, a magnet or a button.

I am not sure what spare time is. I am involved in my son’s scout program. I like to read. I like detective novels and murder mysteries.
