5 Back To School Opportunities for Professional Photographers
Today we have another blog post written by Teri Ritter, of Teri Ritter Photography. Teri has been in business for 10 years in San Diego, CA and Dexter, MI, specializing in families, seniors, and babies. Teri is also a Marketing Consultant and enjoys sharing marketing ideas and plans which boost the bottom line for professional photographers everywhere.
1) For those High School Seniors that you have photographed and delivered images to:
Send them a small proof book (use the H&H single print per page – bound.) They will love showing it around at school. If your logo and contact number is in the book you will get more bookings this Fall from those that haven’t yet had their session. Additionally, the Jr class is watching!
2) Fall sports is alive and well.
Back to School time allows you to photograph some games, post them on H&H Image Host and you’ll make money while you do other things! Be sure to get the website and password in the hands of the buyers – the parents that is.
3) Time to book dances.
Do this even if you’ve never done it before. Attend the first PTO meeting and offer to set up the props, prepare the packages, and give back a portion of the sales to the PTO – thus the photos become a fundraiser addition to the dances.
4) Take the time to set up an email Newsletter.
Constant Contact is a reasonably priced tool that enables you to maintain a more personal method to stay in touch with your clients – used as a sales tool it can boost your income.
5) Research the school, PTO, Educational Foundation calendars and look for Auctions, Fundraisers, etc.
Donate a sitting and a wall portrait – the caveat is that you must be able to display samples. When you display a large print, you will reinforce your brand and keep your work top of mind within the communities you participate in the schools. Include additional products on the display table including your signage – never, ever forget the signage!
