June 19-22. 2013 H&H Color Lab hosted our annual school photography boot camp at H&H University. We had a record number of professional photographers who were going into the school photography business in attendance this year! So many, that we out grew our classroom and held the event off site at the Bordner Event Center in Raytown Mo.
Jeff Locklear took the group through the school photographer’s workflow from beginning to end and Jeff Edwards of Scholastic Reflections discussed sales and taught at the hands on shoot. Our marketing partners: Wolfe’s Camera, Marathon Press, Neil Enterprises and Viewfinder Masks also attended where we had a “mini trade show” set up so photographers would be able to take care of ALL of their school photography needs!
The highlights included: a live shoot at the Summit Christian Academy summer program, dinner catered by Jack Stack BBQ in our garden (we had a perfect evening for this!), and networking with photographers from California to Virginia!
We had a great time meeting and getting to know everyone who attended. If you missed out this year, stay tuned! We are working on our schedule for 2014 and should have that announced by the end of the year!
