Canon Explorers of light Presents Greg Gorman at the Kansas City ASMP Meeting March 16th
This is a rare opportunity to hear one of Kansas Cities’ most famous photographic exports tell his story.
Born in 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri, Greg Gorman grew up in Mission Hills. His formative years were spent first, at Pembroke Country Day School, followed by Shawnee Mission East High School. He went onto University of Kansas where he majored in photojournalism. Greg completed his studies at the University of Southern California, graduating with a Master of Fine Arts degree in cinematography in 1972.
In this presentation in the Atkins Theatre at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Greg will showcase the highlights of his career including the various stages of transition from film to digital, from portraiture to street photography, from celebrities to powerful black and white studies of the human form.
