Photography Products That Enhance Your Work: Holiday Photo Cards

holiday photo cardsI can’t help but notice all the photo card advertisements in the magazines, on television, in the stores – everywhere!  When I first noticed the number of ads targeting the consumer market to create their own cards I was a little depressed, but I processed what I was seeing and reviewed my own card sale trends.  I suddenly realized – what a great opportunity all these advertisements were presenting for us – the professional photographers of the world!  We just need to use this exposure of cards to our advantage……

My thoughts regarding using Holiday Cards in your branding and marketing efforts……

1)       Your cards must possess a design, look and feel that is has an impact and sets the cards you offer apart from “consumer” based design cards.  H&H Color Lab provides this in their new designer photo cards, papers and processes……

2)      Pricing your photo cards needs to be competitive with the consumer based cards – thus your markup is very little.  Holiday cards are part of your marketing mix and you want them out in the marketplace – so the profit margin on cards is slight – look at it as free marketing.  Your logo should be on each and every card that leaves your studio!  H&H has priced their new designer card line very aggressively – allowing you to show your clients that you can create their cards for about the same price they would pay doing their own!

3)      My clients are competitive people, they want to out shine their peers – perfect for me!  However, this means that designs must be updated; shapes and trends must meet what is being seen in mainstream.  Once again, H&H allows us to set ourselves apart!

H&H Color Lab is my partner behind the scenes – making me look good and continue to grow my business.  I would encourage you to try their new designer photo cards if you haven’t yet!
