Employee Highlight – Tricia Chambino
We are proud of our employees and the pride and care they take producing your orders and want to share their stories with you.
Each month we highlight one of our employees and the department they work in! You will get a look behind-the-scenes here at the lab, and get to know one of our own a little bit better.
Tricia Chambino – Album Department
Did you know that all of our albums are handcrafted one at a time, to your specifications, here at H&H Color Lab, in Kansas City, Missouri? The members of this department are responsible for making each one of our beautiful albums, along with our folio and accordion wallet covers, 3-ring binder covers, covered CD cases, and more! It is here that you will find our sewing machine humming, our scissors cutting, our presses working, and all our tools and equipment organized ready for work. The thought, care and dedication of the team members in our Album Department is evident in this interview and a big reason why H&H stands out for our quality products!
Q: How long have you been H&H?
I started here in 1992, so about fourteen years total as I left for about ten years and then came back. I worked primarily in order entry.
Q: What was it like, coming back?
When I worked at the lab the first time, almost all jobs were done with negatives, and scanning. Digital was not even part of the vocabulary. Now it’s huge. Digital has changed how we do business. Now I am trying to get back up to speed! I am training to do album covers for the album department.
Q: Tell me a little bit about your department.
I really like the people. We have a great little team. It’s pretty individual work, but we always know that we have the support of the team as a whole, when we need it.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your work?
I’ve always loved tackling a batch of work, knowing what needs to get done, and working on it with the team. There is a great sense of satisfaction to getting the tasks done each day, from beginning to end.
Q: What do you like best about H&H?
It’s such a solid company. That is the key thing. They make you feel important. They make you feel like they really care. That is a good feeling.
Q: Tell me a little bit about your family.
I have been married for twenty years. I have three boys, ages 15, 16 and 19. Their activities keep us busy, especially my middle son since he is involved with track. We are in the process of preparing them for college. Our oldest attends Longview Community College, and the other two will be on their way before too long. That will be a big change for us, when they all move out of the house. We also like to take road trips sometimes, especially as the kids have gotten older.
