Employee Highlight – Tim Williams
We are proud of our employees and the pride and care they take producing your orders and want to share their stories with you.
Each month we highlight one of our employees and the department they work in! You will get a look behind-the-scenes here at the lab, and get to know one of our own a little bit better.
Tim Williams – Design Center
Did you know that H& H has an amazing group of designers ready to serve your design needs? They are not only talented but also bring their special skills, backgrounds and experience with them into our Design Center and make it a first-class team ready to work with you. An example is Tim Williams. We are very proud to have Tim on our Design Center Team and those of you who have had the privilege of working with Tim understand why!
Q: What is your job title/position?
Q: How long have you worked for H&H?
I have been employed with H&H for just over three and a half years. I spent my first eight months in Customer Service and then moved to the Design Center in June of 2015.
Q: What did you do prior to working for H&H? How do those skills help you with what you do now?
I have spent the last 25+ years as owner/photographer of my own photography business both full and part time. Over those years I have had the privilege of photographing everything from children, families, high school seniors, weddings to team and Individual sports. I have also spent several seasons working for another large school photography company taking school, sports and dance photography. For about 8 years I also worked as a 911 Dispatcher and absolutely loved this line of work, but the stress level finally pushed me back to my ultimate love of photography. I feel my time spent as a photographer gives me an experienced opinion on what our customers are looking for and what might work and not work in certain areas of design.
Q: How big is the staff/team that you work with?
We currently have four members in the Design Center Team. Each of us have our individual area of expertise, but all of us are cross-trained to help each other out during our busy seasons.
Q: How has the company changed in the years since you first started working here?
The company itself hasn’t changed dramatically since I started working here, other than the technology that allows us to do our job more efficiently on a daily basis, which is updated frequently. Management is constantly looking at processes, procedures and workflow to make us more productive. Our goal is to serve our customers in the best way that we can.
Q: What is it that you love about your job? Or how do you measure a job “well done” in a given day?
I love working with a wonderful team of employees to complete a design order for a customer, along with the relationships that you build over time working with those customers. It is also nice to be able to help the studio come up with something creative that meets their needs and then see that finished product completed in the lab. I really enjoy seeing the beautiful images become finished pieces of work for the customers.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time, hobbies, interests etc.
Besides spending time with my family and their activities, I enjoy doing sports action and landscape photography in any spare time I might get. I find it a challenge but yet rewarding at the same time. Bass fishing is also something I really enjoy and find relaxing. I especially enjoy fishing with my son as he has really shown interest in the past few years. I would love to travel more with my family and explore different areas around the country in the years to come.
Q: Tell me a little bit about your personal life, family etc.
I’m very happy to announce that I just got married in May to my beautiful wife Audrey. I have two children of my own, Lizzy and Kendall. My daughter, Lizzy, just graduated from college and will start teaching third grade this fall. My son, Kendall, is a sophomore in high school and very active in baseball and athletic training. I also have a step-daughter, Morgan and step-son Kody that live in the Kansas City area that we love to spend as much time with as possible.
