Employee Highlight – Dru Sutcliffe
We are proud of our employees and the pride and care they take producing your orders and want to share their stories with you.
Each month we highlight one of our employees and the department they work in! You will get a look behind-the-scenes here at the lab, and get to know one of our own a little bit better.
Dru Sutcliffe – H&H Accounts Payable Associate
Dru works behind the scenes at H&H in our Accounts Payables department. She does a very important job working with our accountants, vendors and team members, and her attention to detail is a very important asset. Dru keeps all of us balanced and organized (not an easy job!) and makes sure we provide timely and accurate information.
Q: What did you do before coming to H&H Color Lab?
A I worked for an eye doctor’s office for about sixteen years, doing similar work.
Q: How do you think that experience helps you with your job at the lab?
A Since the systems for both companies are very similar, I felt like I was able to jump in and get going fairly quickly here at the lab.
Q: What is it that you love about your job?
A I really like the environment. The lab has a family feeling to it, even though it is a manufacturing company. It doesn’t have that warehouse, business feel to it. That just makes it a more inviting, comfortable place to work. I also just really enjoy what I do. My job is somewhat complex and varies every day. I like the challenge of getting the work completed each day, working with the team of warehouse employees and other staff to get the job done. I like putting all of the pieces together to make things balance out.
Q: What are some of the hurdles at H&H?
A Sometimes getting all of the information gathered from different areas within the lab can be a challenge. I am also still learning all about the photography industry and how the lab operates.
Q: Tell me a little about your family.
A I have one daughter, a step-daughter and step son-in-law, plus four grandchildren. They all live in the Kansas City area. My husband, Terry, and I, like to spend as much time with them as possible.
Q: What do you do for fun?
A I love to travel. I was fortunate to take a trip to Italy last spring. Italy was amazing. It was so old, just incredible. We went to Rome and to the Vatican. The feel of those places made my hair stand on end. Every building that we stayed in was older than the United States.
Q: What are some of your other hobbies?
A I love motorcycles – especially Harleys. I don’t have one yet, but I will. It’s a dream of mine, to own one – a bucket list item. I also love my pets. I have two dogs and a cat. They are spoiled rotten and I take full credit for it. They are my babies.
